Hello Kitty Island Adventure How to Dive and Unlock Swimming

Exploring the tropical paradise in Hello Kitty Island Adventure involves navigating expansive aquatic regions that are initially out of reach. Players who jump into the ocean early in the game will quickly find themselves reset back onto dry land. Unlocking the ability to swim and dive is essential for discovering hidden secrets, meeting new Sanrio friends, and completing key island quests.
How to Unlock Swimming in Hello Kitty Island Adventure
To start swimming, players must progress through the main storyline until they meet Keroppi in the Spooky Swamp area. Keroppi gives players the quest called Finding Flippers along with the crafting plans required to build them. This initial step opens up basic water traversal across the surrounding shores.
Crafting the flippers requires collecting specific materials found around the island, including fins and a strap. The strap is located inside a treasure chest on a wooden dock in Spooky Swamp. Once gathered, head to Chococat's crafting table to forge the flippers and freely paddle through shallow waters.
How to Get the Snorkel to Dive Underwater
While flippers allow surface swimming, reaching deeper areas requires a special diving tool known as the snorkel. To unlock the snorkel quest, players need to raise their friendship level with Kuromi to level six. Kuromi will then trigger the Deep Diving quest near the Spooky Swamp dock.
During this quest, Kuromi temporarily lends her snorkel so you can retrieve a dropped locket from the water. After returning the item, she provides the official crafting plans so you can permanently build your own gear. You can learn more about island exploration mechanics while preparing for your aquatic adventures.
Gathering Materials for Snorkel Crafting
Building your personal snorkel requires ten pieces of rubber, two sparks, and two iron ingots. Rubber is easily found scattered on the ground around the palm trees near Seaside Resort. Iron ingots can be crafted using plans found near Gemstone Mountain.
Sparks are crafted at the workbench using light stones obtained from giving gifts to Kuromi. Once all items are assembled, craft the snorkel at Chococat's station to permanently gain the diving ability. The tool automatically equips whenever you enter deep water areas.
Exploring Underwater Reefs and Finding Hangyodon
Unlocking diving opens up whole new aquatic ecosystems, including the vibrant Rainbow Reef. Players can submerge underwater to collect rare materials, ocean critters, and specialized crafting recipes. Keep an eye on your stamina wheel, as spending too much time submerged will force you back to the surface.
Diving also allows players to meet Hangyodon, who resides underwater inside the Comedy Club. Finding him completes important island welcoming quests and unlocks new friendship opportunities. Mastering underwater navigation is one of the most rewarding milestones in your island journey.
